spx daily and spy 5….interesting action today, where price held up until very late in the session, but one data point I track is what spx/ spy do with the first hour range, on fed days. A single break takes price outside of the first hour range, up or down. A double break means price breaks in one direction, then reverses to cross back through the first hour range and break out the other side. A triple break is exactly what it sounds like. I almost never see a fed day where spy doesn’t at least make a double break, and maybe half the time it makes a triple break. Today, price didn’t make a double break until the last half hour of the session. The market news kind of got it wrong, but that’s a little amusing.

Following the high last Friday, price moved down a little, then basically came back up for a retest between .618 – .786.
