November 28th, 2016: Long-Term Chart of SP-500 vs AAII Weekly Sentiment

Posted by pugsma on November 28, 2016

Looking at Long-Term Chart of the SP-500 Price vs AAII Weekly Sentiment it can be observed that the Percent Bullish fell below the average (38.4%) and held there for almost two years before last Thursday (11-24-16) move back above the average + 1 standard deviation of (48.75).  This type long-term bearish sentiment followed by a big move up in bullish sentiment occurred at both the  year 2003 and year 2009 cyclical bottoms in the SP-500 price.

It’s possible that the Feb 2016 SP-500 price low at 1810 was and important Cyclical Bottom and not just a Primary Wave Low within Cycle 1 of Super Cycle V.  In this scenario, we could be looking at Cycle 2 of Super V low at 1810 and now a Cycle 3 wave move up that will last a generation.  Something to watch going forward…
